Ellen Havdala has worked in a variety of capacities for companies affiliated with Equity Group Investments (EGI) since 1990. As managing director, she represents EGI in finding potential transactions and identifying new capital sources. Ms. Havdala is also responsible for establishing and overseeing the Zell Global Entrepreneurship Network (ZGEN), an organization designed to provide continuing education and mentorship for students and alumni of Sam Zell’s three entrepreneurship education programs.
In addition to serving on Ardent’s board since 2019, she currently serves on the board of Equity Distribution Acquisition Corp and Lanter Delivery Systems. During her tenure with EGI, she has served as a director for SIRVA, Inc., Rewards Network, Inc., WRS Holding Company, East Mediterranean Gas Company SAE, National Patent Development Corporation, and Home Products International. She also held the roles of executive vice president at Equity International and vice president of Scott Sports Group, Inc.
Prior to joining EGI, Ms. Havdala was a financial analyst with The First Boston Corporation in New York City. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and earned a Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago.
