Peter Bynoe
Peter Bynoe, Senior Advisor, DLA Piper LLP (US), has represented the international law firm as a Partner, Executive Committee Member, Practice Group Leader and Diversity Initiative Leader since 1995. Peter has advised states, cities and counties in their negotiations for stadia and arenas for the Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Commanders, Columbus Blue Jackets, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Braves. He has also represented the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and the London Organizing Committee in their respective preparations for the 1996 and 2012 Summer Olympics. His current practice focuses on multinational corporation transactions.
Peter serves on the board of Covanta Holding Company (NYSE; CVA) and serves as Chairman of the Board of Flagship Communities REIT (TSX; MHC.U). He has previously served as a director of the following SEC-reporting companies: Frontier Communications; Uniroyal Technology Corporation; JG Industries; Huffman-Koos Furnishings; River Valley Savings Bank; JACOR Communications; and Real Industry. His civic commitment portfolio includes chairing the: Illinois Sports Facilities Authority; Chicago Landmark Commissions; and Chicago Plan Commission. His non-profit commitments have included: Vice-Chairman of Rush University Medical Center; Life Trustee of The Goodman Theatre; and Trustee of the CORE Center for the Research, Prevention and Care of Infectious Diseases. He was an elected Overseer of Harvard University from 1992-2000.
Peter received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Harvard College. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School and his master’s degree in business administration from the Harvard School of Graduate Management Education. He is a member of the Illinois Bar and a registered real estate broker in the state of Illinois. From 1989-1992 he was the Owner and Managing General Partner of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets.
