BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (May 6, 2026) – Ardent Health (NYSE: ARDT), a leading provider of healthcare in growing mid-sized urban communities across the U.S., today announced that eight of its facilities earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A”, “B”, “C”, “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“Having so many of our facilities perform at this level reflects the consistency and accountability our teams bring to patient safety each day,” said Marty Bonick, president and CEO of Ardent Health. “It underscores a shared commitment across our organization to getting the fundamentals right and continually raising the standard for the care we provide in the communities we serve.”
For spring 2026, 72% of Ardent’s eligible facilities earned an “A” or “B” Hospital Safety Grade compared to 59% of eligible hospitals nationally. The Ardent facilities that earned an “A” grade include:
- Bailey Medical Center (Owasso, Oklahoma)
- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center (Montclair, New Jersey)
- Hillcrest Hospital Claremore (Claremore, Oklahoma)
- Hillcrest Medical Center (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
- Seton Medical Center Harker Heights (Harker Heights, Texas)
- The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus (Topeka, Kansas)
- UT Health Henderson (Henderson, Texas)
- UT Health Jacksonville (Jacksonville, Texas)
“‘A’ Grades are a strong sign that Ardent Health is deeply committed to protecting patients from harm,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We commend the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers for the role each played in earning this distinction.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
